Philippe de Chennevières connected the verso of the drawing to Bourdon’s Lamentation painted for the Church of Saint Benoit in Paris and now in the Louvre, P. Rosenberg, N. Reynaud and I. Compin, Ecole française XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles. Paris, 1974, I. no. 72. The picture reverses the drawing. Another connected drawing is in the Louvre, J. Guiffrey and P.
